JAYA BALANI - Partner
Jaya Balani was born and raised in the Orlando area. She first joined NeJame Law as a legal intern while she was still a law student, and became a Partner in the Firm in 2011. Today, Ms. Balani practices exclusively criminal defense work, representing clients in a wide variety of criminal charges, including domestic violence, battery, DUI, robbery, probation violations and drug-related offenses. ERIC BARKER - Partner
Attorney Eric Barker has been practicing solely criminal defense for more than 20 years. He spent his early career with the Public Defender's office, and was named the outstanding Assistant Public Defender of the year in 1996, before joining the criminal defense team at NeJame Law in 1999. Eric Barker has always been a criminal defense lawyer, fighting for his clients' rights and freedom throughout his career. DAVID JANCHA
Orlando lawyer David Jancha dedicates his entire practice to Criminal Defense. Before joining NeJame Law, he worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, defending clients in a wide array of criminal charges, and growing his expertise in representing clients suffering from mental illness or disability. RICK L. JANCHA - Partner

Former Federal Prosecutor 22 Years
Federal Attorney and Former Managing Assistant United States Attorney Rick L. Jancha joined NeJame Law in 2008. He began his career as a criminal defense attorney and today, nearly 35 years later, still practices only criminal defense. In this time, Rick Jancha was an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, targeting organized crime and narcotics in Indiana and Florida. He worked with The White House and Congress to obtain central Florida's designation as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking area, and ultimately, was hired as the Chief of a Federal Narcotics Unit, a role in which he supervised every federal drug prosecution in 35 Florida Counties. He went on to lead numerous additional criminal initiatives involving racketeering, drug trafficking, computer crime, explosives, and wiretaps both in the U.S. and abroad.

RAJAN JOSHI - Partner
Criminal Defense attorney Rajan Joshi graduated with Honors from the University of Florida College of Law in 2000. He scored among the Top Five Highest Scores in the Bar Exam in Florida, and started his legal career as an assistant state attorney in Jacksonville. In his four years as a prosecutor, he was promoted to the felony division, and then was assigned to the Repeat Offender Court for felony offenders. He began dedicating his practice to criminal defense in 2004, before returning to central Florida in 2006, where he soon joined the criminal defense team at NeJame Law.
Rajan Joshi has tried and handled thousands of criminal cases, both misdemeanors and felonies. He represents clients charged with a wide variety of offenses, including white-collar crimes, violent crimes and homicide; DUI; domestic violence; sex crimes; drug possession, delivery and trafficking; and theft cases. Mr. Joshi practices in both State and Federal court, and handles post-conviction relief matters, as well.

MICHAEL H. LAFAY - Partner
Board Certified Criminal Defense Attorney Michael LaFay previously served as a Prosecutor for Florida Attorney General's Office of Statewide Prosecution, specializing in white-collar offenses, racketeering and narcotic wiretap/conspiracy cases. Today, he devotes his practice solely to defending clients against criminal charges ranging from misdemeanors to capital felonies. Mr. Lafay is licensed to practice in New York and Florida, and has litigated more than 250 jury trials to date.

.ROBERTO MORENO - Partner
Former United States Immigration Judge Roberto Moreno has extensive experience in criminal defense, immigration and personal injury law. His legal career began in 1976 in Washington, D.C. Since that time, Judge Moreno has worked in numerous high-level federal positions, including with the U.S. Attorney in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Department of Justice. He was named Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Criminal Division, before being named the Managing Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Orlando Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida.
In 1995, Roberto Moreno was appointed a United States Immigration Judge, presiding over all types of criminal and immigration cases, including those in the State of Florida prison system under a Criminal Alien Program. He retired from the bench in 2002, and practiced law in central Florida until joining NeJame Law as a partner in 2011.

THOMAS SADAKA - Partner
As a partner with NeJame Law in Orlando, Tom Sadaka devotes his practice to criminal defense, civil litigation, and intellectual property law. Mr. Sadaka began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney, where he handled felony criminal prosecutions with an emphasis on economic, white collar, and environmental crimes. Utilizing his natural interest in technology, his practice has quickly expanded to include computer crimes. Mr. Sadaka served as Special Counsel for Computer Crimes and Identity Theft Prosecutions in the Florida Attorney General's Office of Statewide Prosecution, overseeing the prosecution of all computer and Internet related crimes, as well as identity theft cases handled by the office.
For many years, Tom Sadaka has been a lecturer and instructor on many aspects of high technology crimes and identity theft to diverse audiences across the nation. He is AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and is regularly sought out by his peers to lecture and instruct on his areas of expertise, including information security, electronic data recovery, and eDiscovery topics.

"FRANK" SYMPHORIEN-SAAVEDRA - Associate
Frank Symphorien-Saavedra focuses his practice primarily on immigration and nationality law, while also handling a number of criminal and personal injury matters with immigration law components. Mr. Symphorien-Saavedra handles many cases involving traffic or criminal offenses that place a client's immigration status in jeopardy, among other criminal maters. Similarly, Mr. Symphorien-Saavedra also handles many personal injury cases with a particular focus on cases involving immigrant plaintiffs.
A native of Venezuela, Frank Symphorien-Saavedra is passionate about helping people through the American immigration process. His practice naturally grew to include criminal and personal injury matters wherever an immigrant was involved. This experience enables him to assist his clients in more complex cases in a wide variety of areas.
