Winter Park Man Awaiting Trial in Wife's Death Kills Himself
A Seminole County man who faced manslaughter charges in the death of his wife was found dead in his home last month. Stephen Curcio, a Winter Park letter carrier who shot his wife to death at their home last summer, was found in his garage May 8 behind the wheel of a van, its engine running, a tube running from its tailpipe to its interior.
St. Cloud murder case collapses; widow won't stand trial
Less than a month from going to trial, the murder case against Kathryn Raver in her husband's 2007 shooting death ended last week without notice or fanfare. On Friday, the Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office released a one-sentence response to questions about why it dropped the prosecution Wednesday after two years of depositions, accusations and hundreds of court motions.
Judge Rejects Early Release for Ex-girlfriend of Killer in Eustis Slayings
A former stripper and ex-girlfriend of a convicted killer who helped him plan a deadly crime in Eustis but then gave crucial testimony that landed him on death row has been denied early release from prison. Circuit Judge T. Michael Johnson rejected an appeal last week to reconsider the 10-year sentence he gave Angel Glenn, 23, for her role in the double murder at a house party where she had been performing.
