Eric Barker
Orlando Criminal Defense Attorney
Criminal Defense Attorney Eric Barker was born in 1967
in Miami, Florida. His family includes his wife Melissa, daughter
Julia, and son Bryce.
Eric earned his B.A. degree at the University of Florida in 1989, and
his J. D. at the University of Florida 1992.
Eric Barker was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1992 and to Federal
Court, Middle District of Florida, in 1992.
During law school Eric interned for Center for Government Responsibility,
Southern Legal Counsel, Office of the Public Defender, and Springfield & Gunson,
P.A.
Between 1993 and 1999 Eric worked at the Office of the Public Defender,
9th Judicial Circuit. In 1999 Eric became Division
Chief of the Felony Division 10. Eric also worked as organizer/leader
of Teen Court Program during its inception in 1995.
In 1999, Eric was persuaded by senior partner Mark NeJame to leave the
public sector, where he had dedicated his service, and join an elite team
of attorneys at this law office. One year later Eric became partner of
this legal firm where he has been working ever since.
Eric has limited his legal practice solely to criminal defense and has
conducted over 60 jury trials (46 as lead counsel) ranging from Driving
on a Suspended License to first degree murder.
