Disgraced Former Windermere Police Chief gets 1 Year in Jail - Daniel Saylor faced as much as 20 years in prison.
Disgraced former Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor was sentenced this morning to one year in the Orange County Jail for official misconduct. Judge C. Jeffery Arnold recommended work release for Saylor. If he is found to qualify, he will be allowed to work during the day and be housed in a "secure facility" at night.

No Jail Time for Doctor Accused of Hiring Hitman
WFTV learned on Tuesday that a doctor arrested accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill his business partner will see no jail time. Instead of solicitation to commit murder, the case was pleaded down to criminal mischief, which means probation for Dr. Akram Ismail. All of the Lake County sheriff's wire taps were inaudible.

New Court Date set for Man Accused of Pushing Girlfriend off Balcony - Jonathan Speegle, 28, faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend last year.
A hearing was held this morning in the case of a man who is accused of pushing his girlfriend over a 16th floor balcony late last year. Jonathan Speegle, 28, was indicted earlier this year and arrested in Oklahoma where he had been staying. He did not appear in court today.

A former teacher in Osceola County who had sex with one of her students was sentenced Monday to house arrest followed by probation, her attorneys said. Sarah Joel, 31, was sentenced to two years of house arrest and eight years of probation, which is less than the 66 months in prison and almost 10 years of probation that prosecutors sought.
